ATTORNEY GENERAL BRADY RECEIVES AWARD FOR WORK ON LAW RELATED EDUCATION
(Wilmington, DE): The Delaware Law Related Education Center has presented its 2004 Outstanding Service Award to Attorney General M. Jane Brady. The award was presented at the Delaware Council on the Social Studies Awards dinner which was held on March 4th in conjunction with the Middle States Council on the Social Studies Conference at the Dover Sheraton. Attorney General Brady, who serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Law Related Education Center, was commended for her work in advancing the cause of law-related education in Delaware.
Patricia Quann, the Executive Director of the Law Related Education Center said, “The presentation of the Outstanding Service Award to Attorney General Brady highlights the significant role that elected officials, particularly attorneys general, can have in supporting civic education. Jane Brady has a long history of support for such programs stemming from her days as Chair of the Public Education Committee for the Delaware State Bar Association in the early 90’s.”
Former award winners include educators and members of the legal profession. The Delaware Law Related Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization, has provided services to Delaware's schools and the community for nearly a decade. Its most widely known programs are the Delaware High School Mock Trial Competition and the "We the People" Competition. The mission of the Center is to provide resources to enhance the presence of law-related education initiatives in Delaware. It seeks to promote active learning experiences and skills development for students who need to function in a society based on the rule of law.
