ATTORNEY GENERAL BRADY ANNOUNCES NEW CONSUMER PROTECTION UNIT
DIRECTOR
Barbara Gadbois named to post
(Wilmington): Attorney General M. Jane Brady today announced that she
has named Barbara Gadbois of Pike Creek, to be Director of the Consumer
Protection Unit in the Delaware Attorney General's office. Gadbois will
head the Unit which is responsible for the investigation of consumer
complaints and the enforcement of consumer protection laws in Delaware.
"Barbara's civil litigation experience and varied background makes
her selection an easy task. She has displayed solid leadership since she
began her employment here, and I am confident she will be an excellent
Director," said Attorney General Brady.
Gadbois is a 1988 graduate of the Delaware Law School of Widener
University and graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree
in Political Science. She was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1988 and
to the District of Delaware and Pennsylvania Bars in 1989. Gadbois had
the privilege of serving as a Wolcott Fellow to the Honorable Andrew D.
Christie, Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, and as Law Clerk
to the Honorable Albert J. Stiftel, President Judge of the Superior
Court.
From 1989 through 2004, she was in private practice with the law firms
Ament, Evans, Lynch & Carr, Silverman & McDonald and the Law
Offices of Peter G. Angelos. Her practice included civil litigation in
all Delaware State and Federal Courts in the areas of personal injury,
small business, real estate, contracts and will disputes and medical
malpractice. Since April 2004, Barbara has been a Deputy Attorney
General with the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General's
Office.
